On Windows, you can also use the portable version. All applications have the same user interface and can be synchronized with each other.

Three types of applications are available: desktop (Windows, macOS and Linux), mobile (Android and iOS), and terminal (Windows, macOS, Linux and FreeBSD). When you sync notes, notebooks, tags, and other metadata are saved to text files that you can easily view, back up, and move around. Notes can be synchronized with various cloud services, including Nextcloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, WebDAV, or a file system (for example, with a network directory).

You can also import plain Markdown files. enex files can be imported into Joplin, including formatted content (which is converted to Markdown), assets (images, attachments, etc.) and complete metadata (geolocation, update time, creation time, etc.). Notes are searchable, copyable, tagged and edited either directly from the applications or from your own text editor.
